Mack Hollins BUF WR
Bills' Mack Hollins: More competition emerges
5h agoHollins, who was signed as a free agent by the Bills in March, has seen the receiver room fill out in the time since, with the Bills drafting Keon Coleman in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft while also adding veterans Curtis Samuel, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Chase Claypool.
For a very brief period, Hollins was a starter on the otherwise lethal Buffalo offensive depth chart, but things have changed and it now looks as if the Bills will let several journeymen duke it out for slotting. With Buffalo being likely to feature running back James Cook and tight end Dalton Kincaid heavily in the passing game, it's difficult to envision Hollins having anything more than a depth role as a receiver that offers good size in the red zone, though we'll also note he's never caught more than four touchdowns in an NFL season.

Tank Dell HOU WR
Texans' Tank Dell: Engages in workout Saturday
1d agoDell (leg) ran and performed drills Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Dell is recovering from what has been described as a "clean flesh wound" to his left leg sustained as an innocent bystander in a shooting in Florida in late April. The wideout's workout Saturday suggests that he's progressing well and confirms previous reports that the wound was minor. Given his activity Saturday, there appears to be a chance that Dell will participate in the Texans' OTAs, which begin Monday.

Chukwuebuka Godrick KC OT
Chiefs' Chukwuebuka Godrick: Arrested on misdemeanor charge
2d agoGodrick and teammate Wanya Morris were arrested on misdemeanor marijuana possession charges Thursday and released on bond Friday, according to Johnson County (Kansas) Sheriff reports, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
Godrick and Morris were arrested Thursday night and released on a $2,500 bond Friday. Possession of marijuana is illegal in the state of Kansas. Godrick is expected to compete for a roster spot in 2024 after spending his rookie year on Kansas City's practice squad in 2023. It's unclear whether Godrick will face supplemental discipline from the NFL or the Chiefs as a result of this arrest.

Chiefs' Wanya Morris: Arrested for misdemeanor possession
2d agoMorris and teammate Chukwuebuka Godrick were arrested on misdemeanor marijuana possession charges Thursday and released on bond Friday, according to Johnson County (Kansas) Sheriff reports, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
Morris and Godrick were arrested Thursday night and released on a $2,500 bond Friday. Possession of marijuana is illegal in the state of Kansas. Morris is expected to compete for the starting left tackle spot for the Chiefs in 2024. It's unclear whether Morris will face supplemental discipline from the NFL or the Chiefs as a result of this arrest.

Lamical Perine KC RB
La'Mical Perine: Waived by KC
2d agoPerine was waived by the Chiefs on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Kansas City is parting ways with Perine after he rushed for 77 yards on 22 carries while adding three catches for 33 yards in 2023. The 2020 fourth-round draft pick of the Jets spent his first two seasons in New York. Perine will look to latch on with another team prior to training camp.

T.J. Hockenson MIN TE
Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: No timetable for return
2d agoHockenson (knee) said "they haven't really put a timeline on it" when asked Wednesday about a potential date for his in-season return to action, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.
Hockenson was specifically asked on the NFL Schedule Release '24 show whether he expects to be playing Week 5 versus the Jets in London. The standout tight end said of his recovery from a right ACL and MCL tear he's "kinda taking it day by day, week by week," and that "the progression has been incredible" even though a specific return timetable remains uncertain. Hockenson underwent surgery late January and doesn't seem likely to be ready for Week 1, but Week 5 could be within the realm of possibility. The Vikings have a Week 6 bye, however, so it's possible that a more realistic target for Hockenson's debut could be Week 7 and beyond.

J.P. Crawford SEA SS
Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Joining team in New York
12m agoCrawford (oblique) is set to join the Mariners ahead of their three-game series with the Yankees beginning Monday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Crawford appears to be ready to rejoin the major-league roster after being placed on the 10-day injured list with a Grade 1 right oblique strain April 25. The shortstop went 1-for-5 with a run scored during his short two-game rehab assignment, which was cut short after he was hit in the hand by a pitch Wednesday. Crawford has struggled to a .198/.296/.302 slash line with two homers, nine RBI and 13 runs scored over 86 at-bats in 22 games with Seattle this season and his return will likely push Dylan Moore out of the starting lineup.

Adolis Garcia TEX RF
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Imaging comes back clean
25m agoGarcia (forearm) underwent imaging on his forearm Sunday, which came back clean according to manager Bruce Bochy, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.
Garcia was scratched from the lineup ahead of Sunday's series finale with the Angels due to right forearm discomfort, but he appears to have avoided any sort of significant injury. The team has an off day Monday, so the outfielder's next opportunity to return to the lineup will come Tuesday on the road versus the Phillies.

Bubba Chandler PIT P
Pirates' Bubba Chandler: Dealing with forearm injury
40m agoChandler was placed on Double-A Altoona's 7-day injured list Sunday with a forearm injury, though Pirates assistant GM Steve Sanders labeled the move as precautionary, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.
The 21-year-old is one of the organization's top prospects and has struggled early in 2024 with a 5.84 ERA and 30:18 K:BB across 24.2 innings. Chandler will be sidelined for at least the next week but is without an official timeline for his return.
-
Amir Garrett LAA RP
Amir Garrett: Hits open market
45m agoGarrett cleared outright waivers Sunday and elected free agency.
The veteran left-hander was designated for assignment by the Angels on Wednesday, and he'll head to the open market rather than report to Triple-A Salt Lake. Garrett made just six appearances for the Halos and gave up three earned runs with an 11:5 K:BB over 5.1 innings.

Chas McCormick HOU LF
Astros' Chas McCormick: Making final rehab appearance
1h agoMcCormick (hamstring) is expected to rejoin the Astros after serving as Triple-A Sugar Land's designated hitter Sunday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
It's the sixth rehab outing for McCormick, who so far has gone 3-for-19 with a double, an RBI and five strikeouts. The 29-year-old has struggled early in 2024 with a .236/.325/.278 slash line through 21 games.
-
Jose Urquidy HOU SP
Astros' Jose Urquidy: Needs one more rehab start
1h agoAstros manager Joe Espada said Sunday that Urquidy (forearm) will make another rehab start in the next few days, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
The 29-year-old allowed four earned runs and threw 59 pitches over four innings during his second rehab start Saturday, and he'll require one more start before potentially joining the Astros. If Urquidy remains on a five-day pitching schedule, he could make his season debut as early as May 28 in Seattle.

Jalen Brunson NY PG
Knicks' Jalen Brunson: Diagnosed with left hand fracture
26m agoBrunson has been diagnosed with a left hand fracture and won't return to Sunday's Game 7 against the Pacers.
Brunson finishes Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals with 17 points (6-17 FG) and nine assists in 29 minutes. The Pacers hold a commanding double-digit lead, but even if the Knicks pull off a comeback and extend their season, Brunson would presumably miss extended time due to the injury. Alec Burks and Miles McBride are candidates for increased minutes in Brunson's absence.
-
Jalen Brunson NY PG
Knicks' Jalen Brunson: Heads to locker room
28m agoBrunson went to the locker room late in the third quarter of Sunday's Game 7 against the Pacers due to an undisclosed injury, Stefan Bondy of The New York Post reports.
Brunson has dealt with a foot injury throughout the postseason, but it's unclear why he had to go to the locker room Sunday. The point guard has 17 points (6-17 FG) and nine assists in 29 minutes, so if he's unable to return, Alec Burks and Miles McBride will need to step up.
-
OG Anunoby NY SF
Knicks' OG Anunoby: Unlikely to return Sunday
1h agoAnunoby (hamstring) won't return to Sunday's Game 7 against the Pacers, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.
Smith and ESPN's broadcast said Anunoby, who started in his return from a four-game absence and scored five points in five minutes before exiting, won't return Sunday. However, Fred Katz of The Athletic relays that the Knicks haven't officially ruled Anunoby out yet. Miles McBride started the second half in place of Anunoby.
-
Miles McBride NY PG
Knicks' Miles McBride: Returns to bench
3h agoMcBride won't start Sunday's Game 7 against the Pacers, Ian Begley of SportsNet New York reports.
With OG Anunoby (hamstring) returning from a four-game absence and Josh Hart playing through an abdomen injury he suffered in Game 6, McBride will shift to his usual reserve role. McBride has scored in double figures in four straight games, averaging 15.8 points on 46.2 percent shooting during that stretch.
-
Josh Hart NY SF
Knicks' Josh Hart: Active and starting
3h agoHart (abdomen) is in the starting five for Sunday's Game 7 against the Pacers, Ian Begley of SportsNet New York reports.
Hart will fight through an abdominal strain he sustained Friday and will be joined by OG Anunoby (hamstring) in the starting lineup for Game 7. While it remains to be seen if Hart will have any physical limitations due to the injury, it seems he will get as many minutes as he can handle. He's generated a double-double four times in the series.
-
OG Anunoby NY SF
Knicks' OG Anunoby: Will start Sunday
3h agoAnunoby (hamstring) is active and will start Sunday's Game 7 against the Pacers, Ian Begley of SportsNet New York reports.
Anunoby will return to action for the decisive Game 7 after missing the previous four matchups due to a left hamstring strain. Josh Hart is also available despite suffering an abdominal strain during Game 6. Anunoby had 28 points (10-19 FG) in 28 minutes during Game 2 before suffering the injury, but he'll likely face some limitations Sunday.

Jesper Fast CAR RW
Hurricanes' Jesper Fast: Still in neck brace
6h agoFast (neck) was still wearing a neck brace Saturday while he continues to undergo tests to determine the severity of the injury, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Fast was unavailable during the playoffs after suffering the injury in Carolina's regular-season finale April 16. The 32-year-old winger tallied six goals and 19 points in 73 regular-season games in a bottom-six role. Once the severity of his injury is diagnosed, Fast will focus on getting back to full health ahead of the 2024-25 season.

Filip Hronek VAN D
Canucks' Filip Hronek: Offers helper Saturday
18h agoHronek notched an assist, three hits and a minus-2 rating in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 6.
Hronek has been a non-factor on offense this postseason, posting one helper, a minus-4 rating and 11 shots on net through 12 appearances. He's added 23 hits and 15 blocked shots while maintaining a top-pairing role.
-
Elias Pettersson VAN C
Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Notches assist in loss
18h agoPettersson recorded an assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 6.
Pettersson has earned two helpers in the last two games but still hasn't been living up to expectations offensively during the playoffs. He's at six points, 20 shots, 23 hits, 11 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over 12 appearances. However, he's looked slightly better since moving to the wing alongside Elias Lindholm.
-
Nils Hoglander VAN LW
Canucks' Nils Hoglander: Nets lone goal in loss
18h agoHoglander scored a goal on two shots in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 6.
Hoglander offered a quick response to Dylan Holloway's opening tally in the first period, but the Canucks' offense stalled out after that. The goal was Hoglander's first this postseason, and he's added just one assist with eight shots on net, 13 hits and a minus-2 rating over 10 appearances. The winger has been listed on the second line recently, but he's played a limited role with no power-play time, so there's little reason to think he'll soon turn a corner on offense.
-
Arturs Silovs VAN G
Canucks' Arturs Silovs: Falters in Game 6
18h agoSilovs allowed five goals on 27 shots in Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Oilers in Game 6.
Silovs had his worst outing of the playoffs, squandering the Canucks' first chance to book a spot in the Western Conference Finals. The team in front of him was flat as well, registering a meager 15 shots on net, which is low even by its unimpressive shot volume for the postseason (21.1 shots per game). Silovs is 5-4 with a 2.89 GAA and an .898 save percentage through nine playoff outings. He's alternated wins and losses in the second round, but it's unclear if he'll get the nod at home for Game 7 on Monday or if head coach Rick Tocchet will turn to Casey DeSmith.

Leon Draisaitl EDM C
Oilers' Leon Draisaitl: Keeps rolling with two helpers
19h agoDraisaitl produced two assists, two hits, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Canucks in Game 6.
Draisaitl set up the Oilers' first and last goals, scored by Dylan Holloway and Evander Kane, respectively. The pair of helpers extended Draisaitl's playoff point streak to 11 contests, during which he has eight goals and 15 assists. He's added 42 shots on net, 10 PIM and a plus-2 rating this postseason. Draisaitl also became the third-fastest player in NHL history to 100 playoff points, doing so in just 60 appearances. Only Wayne Gretzky (46 games) and Mario Lemieux (50 games) did it faster.
