17m agoSeattle signed Torrence to a contract Friday, Howard Balzer of GoPHNX.com reports.
Torrence wasn't selected in the NFL Draft in late April but will get a shot to make his case for a roster or practice-squad spot after signing with the Seahawks. The 6-foot-3 defensive back played the final two seasons of college with Arizona State and totaled 37 tackles (including 2.0 sacks) along with an interception in 2023. Torrence allowed just 20 receptions in coverage last season, the lowest total among Pac-12 cornerbacks with at least 300 snaps played in coverage during the regular season.

2h agoOladapo (toe) has undergone surgery and is not expected to be ready for OTAs, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Although he will miss OTAs, the team remains optimistic that Clark will be ready for training camp. He suffered a stress fracture doing drills on the turf at the NFL combine. The rookie was the third safety selected by the Packers in the 2024 NFL Draft, following Xavier McKinney and Anthony Johnson. The Oregon State product will need to get his health back to bar in order to make an impression during training camp.

The journeyman failed to make a roster or practice squad during the 2023 season, but will look to bounce back once his health is back up to par.

Harrell totaled four receptions for 45 yards as a sixth-year senior at Miami in 2023. The Jets are thin at wide receiver going into 2024, so he could be in the competition for the last few spots on their final depth chart.

Turner stole second base and then scored from second on a passed ball during the fourth inning, but he was replaced on defense by Edmundo Sosa before the fifth frame. It remains unknown how severe Turner's injury is, but the Phillies should offer an update on his status in the near future.

Bailey was struck in the face mask by a foul tip off the bat of Alec Bohm during the first inning of Friday's contest and was later replaced by Tom Murphy in the second frame. The Giants are still in the process of evaluating Bailey, but an update on his status may be available after the game.

Miller has been on the injured list since April 13 due to inflammation in his right shoulder, and Friday marked his first time throwing off a mound since then. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he isn't sure how many more bullpen sessions Miller will need to throw before he progresses to facing live hitters, so the 25-year-old righty will likely remain without a clear return timeline until he gets to that point.

He was also seen tracking fly balls during batting practice Friday, per John Denton of MLB.com. Edman still appears far away from a rehab assignment, but the 29-year-old is steadily progressing.

It's unclear whether his left hamstring strain will keep him on the shelf beyond his return date of May 17. The Marlins recalled right-hander Darren McCaughan from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move.

DiPietro was summoned Tuesday so the Bruins would have a third goaltender on their playoff roster. He might be recalled ahead of Game 7 on Saturday against Toronto to continue to serve that function. DiPietro hasn't played for Boston in the regular season or playoffs in 2023-24, but he did record a 2.51 GAA and a .918 save percentage in 30 regular-season outings with Providence.

Guhle finished the 2023-24 season with six goals, 22 points, 56 PIM, 116 hits and 178 blocks in 70 contests with Montreal. He served in a top-four capacity with the Canadiens, and the 22-year-old should act in a similar capacity for the franchise next campaign. In the meantime, Guhle will get in some extra high-level action during the international tournament before beginning his summer training.

Marchment will miss his fourth straight contest after he was hurt in Game 2. Marchment ended the regular season with 22 goals, 31 assists, 108 hits and a plus-22 rating in 81 appearances for the Stars. Marchment should be considered day-to-day ahead of a potential Game 7 against the Golden Knights on Sunday.
