6h agoBailey agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Cardinals on Tuesday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
After four years in Cincinnati, Bailey will get a fresh start in Arizona. The 27-year-old accumulated 73 tackles (46 solo) across 60 games with the Bengals, primarily as a depth linebacker and special teams contributor. He will now look to impress in OTAs and carve out a role for himself with his new team.

9h agoBrown (ankle) was waived by the Titans on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Brown spent all last season on IR, but he was waived without an injury designation, so he should be considered healthy moving forward. The 25-year-old was an undrafted free agent out of Troy in 2023 and was working to earn a spot on the Titans roster when he suffered the injury in a preseason contest.

Ryan Swoboda ATL OLRyan Swoboda: Gets cut loose
9h agoSwoboda (undisclosed) was waived by the Falcons with an injury designation Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Swoboda will revert to injured reserve if he goes unclaimed. At that point, he'll be forced to miss the entirety of the 2024 campaign unless he can reach an injury settlement with Atlanta.

Kyle Peko TEN NTLions' Kyle Peko: Finds new home
9h agoPeko (calf) signed a contract with the Lions on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Peko finished last season on injured reserve after competing in 13 games and recording 22 combined tackles. Now healthy again, the veteran lineman will get an opportunity in Detroit for his seventh NFL season. The Oregon State product will also have the chance to reunite with his defensive line coach from the Titans, Terrell Williams, who holds the same position now with the Lions.

Joe Burrow CIN QBBengals' Joe Burrow: Continues to progress
11h agoBurrow (wrist), who has resumed throwing, indicated Tuesday that he's fully cleared to do everything that doesn't involve contact, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Burrow, who is bouncing back from a procedure to repair a torn ligament in his right wrist, started throwing again in April, noting that at this stage his focus is on mechanics like his footwork and arm path, as well as the "little intricacies of the throwing motion." While it remains to be seen when he'll be cleared for contact, Ben Baby of ESPN relays that the Bengals' franchise signal-caller feels as though he's "in a good spot" in his recovery process, and there's nothing to suggest that Burrow won't be ready to go well ahead of Week 1.

Baldwin spent the entire 2023 campaign on Minnesota's practice squad and inked a reserve/future contract with the team back in January, but he'll now have to look for an opportunity to compete elsewhere. His lone NFL appearance came in one game with the Browns in 2022.

Dustin May LAD SPDodgers' Dustin May: Nearing mound work
17m agoDodgers manager Dave Roberts stated last week that May (elbow) is getting close to throwing off a mound, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
May has been rehabbing from the right flexor tendon and UCL reconstruction revision surgery he underwent last July, and advancing to mound work will be a major step in his recovery. The right-hander has had two elbow surgeries in the past three years, so the organization is likely to be conservative in setting a timeline for his eventual return to game action. If his rehab continues to go smoothly, May could be ready to join Los Angeles sometime after the All-Star break, though there's no guarantee that the Dodgers will let him throw in big-league games this season.

Clayton Kershaw LAD SPDodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Tosses another bullpen session
25m agoKershaw (shoulder) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
This was the second bullpen session Kershaw has thrown since undergoing shoulder surgery last November. The southpaw hurled 15 pitches in his initial bullpen Friday and increased that amount to 20 pitches Tuesday. He's throwing only fastballs at this point, but Dodgers manager Dave Roberts indicated that the results have been "really encouraging" so far. Kershaw could next advance to including breaking pitches in his mound work and ramping up to more pitches as he slowly works his way back to game action. The future Hall of Famer isn't expected to make his season debut for the Dodgers until after the All-Star break.

39m agoPasquantino went 3-for-5 with a two-RBI double, a run scored and an additional RBI during Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Brewers.
Pasquantino gave the Royals the lead in the fifth inning, plating Kyle Isbel and Bobby Witt on a double off Colin Rea. He came around to score in that same inning when Salvador Perez notched a double himself. The outing marked Pasquantino's third game this season driving in at least three runs, moving him up to 21 RBI on the year.

Rhys Hoskins MIL 1BBrewers' Rhys Hoskins: Goes yard against Royals
44m agoHoskins went 1-for-5 with a solo home run during Tuesday's 6-5 win over Kansas City.
Hoskins provided the Brewers first run of the game, leading off the second inning with a solo home run. The long ball was matched by Joey Ortiz, who immediately followed suit and hit a home run as the next batter after Hoskins. Even with Tuesday's long ball, Hoskins is batting 4-for-27 (.148) in his last eight games.

1h agoAdames went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run during Tuesday's 6-5 win over the Royals.
Adames stepped up to the plate with Gary Sanchez on first and William Contreras on second with two outs down 5-3 and smacked a laser over the left field wall for the go-ahead homer. The long ball was Adames' fourth in the last seven games, a stretch in which he's racked up 12 RBI and scored six times.

1h agoMcArthur (1-2) took the loss and blew the save Tuesday against Milwaukee, allowing three runs on three hits and a walk over one inning. He didn't log a strikeout.
For a second straight appearance, McArthur took the mound in the ninth with the Royals leading and surrendered a game-altering home run. This time, Willy Adames put the Brewers up 6-5 with a three-run home run that plated William Contreras and Gary Sanchez with two outs. Despite blowing back-to-back saves, fantasy managers shouldn't panic about McArthur considering he hadn't allowed a run in nine consecutive appearances prior to the stretch.

Aaron Wiggins OKC SGThunder's Aaron Wiggins: Pops for 16 points Tuesday
30m agoWiggins logged 16 points (5-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 23 minutes during Tuesday's 117-95 victory over the Mavericks in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Wiggins had his best game of the playoffs, scoring 16 points including three triples. Given he scored a combined 23 points in the first-round series against the Pelicans, outbursts like this shouldn't be expected moving forward. With that said, he should continue to play a meaningful role off the bench, starting with Game 2 which will take place Thursday.

33m agoHolmgren totaled 19 points (8-16 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-1 FT), seven rebounds, one assist, three blocks and two steals over 31 minutes during Tuesday's 117-95 victory over the Mavericks in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Holmgren produced on both ends of the floor, scoring 19 points to go with five combined steals and blocks. After a stellar rookie season, Holmgren is looking to cement himself as an elite center despite his age. The Thunder will be hoping for a repeat performance Thursday before heading back to Dallas for games 3 and 4.

36m agoGilgeous-Alexander finished with 29 points (8-19 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 11-13 FT), nine rebounds, nine assists, two blocks and one steal over 37 minutes during Tuesday's 117-95 win over Dallas in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Gilgeous-Alexander fell agonizingly short of his first career playoff triple-double, guiding the Thunder to an emphatic Game 1 victory. While this was a close contest for the first three quarters, Oklahoma City took over late, led by the MVP candidate. He will look to build on this performance when the two teams clash again Thursday.

41m agoLawson closed with three points (1-2 FG, 1-2 3Pt) and one rebound in five minutes during Tuesday's 117-95 loss to Oklahoma City in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Lawson played five minutes of garbage time as the Mavericks were dismantled by the Thunder down the stretch. Dallas will be hoping to reverse the result in Game 2, hoping to head home with the series locked at 1-1.

Tim Hardaway Jr. DAL SGMavericks' Tim Hardaway: Struggles in return
43m agoHardaway posted two points (1-5 FG, 0-4 3Pt) and two rebounds over 17 minutes during Tuesday's 117-95 loss to Oklahoma City in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Hardaway returned to action following a four-game absence as a result of an ankle injury. While he does, in theory, provide Dallas with another scoring option off the bench, that was not the case here. If they are to trouble the Thunder, Hardaway is going to need to be more of a reliable threat.

45m agoGafford totaled 16 points (5-12 FG, 6-8 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist and five blocks across 27 minutes during Tuesday's 117-95 loss to the Thunder in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Gafford recorded a double-double in the loss, adding five blocks. It was arguably his best performance of the postseason and something the Mavericks are going to need more of should they hope to advance to the Conference Finals. Despite the loss, the scoreline does not reflect the fact that the Mavericks kept this close for three quarters.

Vincent Trocheck NYR CRangers' Vincent Trocheck: Game-winning goal
4m agoTrocheck scored the game-winning goal in Tuesday's 4-3 double-overtime win over Carolina
Trocheck was able to find a rebound in front of Frederik Andersen before he buried the puck five-hole to win the game for New York. Trocheck also registered a primary assist on Chris Kreider's third- period tally to go along with six shots on goal, one blocked shot and three hits. Furthermore, the 30-year-old skated the most of any player on either team in Tuesday's game with a whopping 35:21 of ice time. Trocheck is up to five goals and five assists in six appearances so far this postseason.

Brady Skjei CAR DHurricanes' Brady Skjei: Primary assist in loss
19m agoSkjei notched an even-strength assist in Tuesday's 4-3 double-overtime loss to New York.
Skjei assisted on Dmitry Orlov's late first-period tally to give Carolina a 2-1 lead heading into the second frame. As Orlov skated towards the front of the net from the corner, Skjei floated a shot from the point that was redirected past the Rangers' netminder. The former Ranger ultimately took a penalty in OT that New York ended up converting to win the game. Look for Skjei to rebound with a strong effort in game three on Thursday.

Sebastian Aho CAR LWHurricanes' Sebastian Aho: Three assists in loss
36m agoAho registered a trio of assists in Tuesday's 4-3 double-overtime loss to the Rangers.
Aho had a hand in all three of his team's goals to go along with seven shots on net, a plus-2 rating, three hits and 30:18 of ice time. That gives Aho five assists in two games this series, yet the Hurricanes head back to Carolina down two games to none against New York. Carolina will need Aho to be at his best once again come Thursday if they have any chance of avoiding a three-game deficit. Overall this postseason, the Finnish center has two goals and six assists in seven games to go along with a plus-3 rating.

Jake Guentzel CAR CHurricanes' Jake Guentzel: Two goals in loss
1h agoGuentzel potted two goals on five shots in Tuesday's loss to the Rangers.
Guentzel was set up on both goals by Sebastian Aho, but it wasn't enough to lift Carolina over New York. Guentzel's two goals were complemented by a plus-2 rating and 26:39 of ice time. The 29-year-old has done his part since coming over in a trade from Pittsburgh - in 17 regular season games, Guentzel racked up 25 points. In the postseason, he has seven points in as many games. If Carolina can get back in this series, they will continue to need contributions from the star forward.

Frederik Andersen CAR GHurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Back to back losses
1h agoAndersen made 35 saves on 39 shots in Tuesday's game two loss to the Rangers.
Andersen has allowed four goals in consecutive games for the first time all season. He was limited to just 16 regular season appearances due to injury, so it's possible that fatigue is catching up to the 34-year-old with six consecutive starts. Overall this postseason, Andersen is 4-3 with a 2.58 GAA and a .899 save percentage through 7 outings. Andersen's next chance to rebound would be in game 3 on Thursday against New York.

Igor Shesterkin NYR GRangers' Igor Shesterkin: Solid in Game 2 win
2h agoShesterkin turned aside 54 of 57 shots on goal in Tuesday's double-overtime win against Carolina.
Shesterkin extended his undefeated streak in the postseason to six games, even with Carolina peppering him in this one. It's the second game in a row Shesterkin has let in at least three goals, but the Rangers have given him enough offensive support to get victories in both games one and two. Overall this postseason, Shesterkin is 6-0 with a 2.01 GAA and .929 save percentage through six outings.
