Zach Davidson BUF TE
Bills' Zach Davidson: Battling for depth role
44m agoDavidson (undisclosed) is competing for one of the Bills' final roster spots at tight end this offseason, Joe Buscaglia reports.
Davidson missed the entire 2023 campaign after the Bills placed him on injured reserve last June. The nature of the 25-year-old's injury was never disclosed, though it appears he's now past this issue considering that he's set to compete for a depth role this offseason. Davidson's primary competition should be Tre' McKitty and Quintin Morris.

Andrew Vorhees BAL OG
Ravens' Andrew Vorhees: Participating in rookie minicamp
1h agoVorhees (knee-ACL) was an active participant in the Ravens' rookie minicamp Friday through Monday, Clifton Brown of the team's official site reports.
Vorhees missed his entire rookie season after suffering a torn ACL during the 2023 NFL combine. While he has yet to participate in any padded sessions, the seventh-round pick appears to be back to full health for this year's rookie minicamp. Baltimore coach John Harbaugh also said that Vorhees will compete for a starting job at guard ahead of the 2024 season.

Chevan Cordeiro SJST QB
Chevan Cordeiro: Let go by Seattle
2h agoThe Seahawks waived Cordeiro on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Cordeiro's landed with Seattle as an undrafted free agent Friday. The 24-year-old out of San Jose State would have likely competed for a spot on the Seahawks' practice squad this offseason, but he'll now look to latch on elsewhere ahead of the 2024 campaign.

Nyheim Hines CLE RB
Browns' Nyheim Hines: Plans to be ready for camp
7h agoHines (knee) said Tuesday he expects to be available for the start of training camp, Camryn Justice of News 5 Cleveland reports.
Hines underwent surgery to repair his left ACL last August, then was released by the Bills in March after missing the entire 2023 season. Assuming he's indeed healthy by the start of training camp, Hines should compete for third-down snaps in the backfield and return work on special teams. With Nick Chubb working his way back from a serious knee injury of his own and no lock to be ready for Week 1, Jerome Ford and D'Onta Foreman are likely to operate as Cleveland's top backs to begin training camp.
-
Scott Miller ATL WR
Steelers' Scott Miller: Lands in Pittsburgh
9h agoMiller agreed to terms Wednesday on a one-year contract with the Steelers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Miller reunites with offensive coordinator Arthur Smith in Pittsburgh, after he logged a 11-161-2 receiving line across 17 appearances in 2023 in Atlanta, where Smith had served as the head coach. The wideout now gets a chance to compete with names like Quez Watkins, Denzel Mims, Marquez Callaway and Dez Fitzpatrick for a depth role with the Steelers this offseason.
-
Baylon Spector BUF LB
Bills' Baylon Spector: Fighting for top reserve role
9h agoSpector (back) is expected to compete with Dorian Williams for Buffalo's top backup role at linebacker, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Spector appears to be recovered from the back injury that ended his 2023 season early, and his spot on the 53-man roster heading into training camp appears secure due to his standing as a key special-teams contributor. Because of his draft capital as a 2023 third-round pick, Williams will likely be the favorite to win the top backup role this offseason, but Spector could have a solid chance to earn more opportunities if he can impress in workouts.

Romy Gonzalez BOS SS
Red Sox's Romy Gonzalez: First career start at 1B
14m agoGonzalez started at first base and went 1-for-4 in Wednesday's 5-0 loss to Atlanta.
Gonzalez was activated off the injured list Wednesday and was in the starting lineup against left-hander Chris Sale. It was Gonzalez's first career start at first base. The versatile infielder is expected to see significant playing time against southpaws, and the Red Sox will see two lefties in the upcoming three-game set against Washington.
-
Bryan De La Cruz MIA DH
Marlins' Bryan De La Cruz: Goes deep again
15m agoDe La Cruz went 2-for-4 with a solo home run during Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Dodgers.
De La Cruz produced the only run for the Marlins, tagging Gavin Stone for a solo shot in the fourth inning. The DH has gone yard in three of his last five games, bringing his season total to eight. With Wednesday's homer, De La Cruz's ISO sits at .205, up from .154 last season.
-
Teoscar Hernandez LAD RF
Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Clubs go-ahead homer
21m agoHernandez went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and an additional RBI during Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Marlins.
Hernandez drove in all three of the Dodgers' runs Wednesday, plating Freddie Freeman on a first-inning single before re-taking the lead in the sixth on a two-run homer that also scored Freeman. Hernandez has gone yard four times in May, batting 8-for-25 (.320) with six runs scored during the month.
-
Willi Castro MIN SS
Twins' Willi Castro: Smacks third home run
26m agoCastro went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and two RBI during Wednesday's 6-3 win over the Mariners.
The 27-year-old hit a solo shot off George Kirby in the second inning to break an 0-for-11 stretch at the plate, and Castro's RBI triple in the fourth gave the Twins some extra insurance, making it a 4-1 ballgame. Castro is now slashing .346/.370/.692 with three RBI and three stolen bases across his last seven games.
-
Daniel Hudson LAD RP
Dodgers' Daniel Hudson: Converts for second save
26m agoHudson earned the save Wednesday against Miami, striking out one over a perfect inning.
Hudson got the first chance at ninth-inning duties after Evan Phillips (hamstring) was placed on the 15-day IL on Sunday and was perfect for his second save of the campaign. Until Phillips returns, the closing job should be Hudson's to lose, though he could have a shorter leash considering he's blown two of his other three save chances this season.
-
Gavin Stone LAD SP
Dodgers' Gavin Stone: Another impressive outing
29m agoStone (3-1) picked up the win Wednesday against Miami, allowing one run on six hits and no walks over seven innings. He struck out four.
Outside of a solo homer to Bryan De La Cruz in the fourth inning, Stone was exceptional, yielding one run for a third consecutive start. He's lasted at least six innings in three straight outings, dragging his ERA down to 3.55 through 38.0 frames. With Bobby Miller (shoulder) nearing the start of a rehab assignment, Stone could only have a couple more go-arounds in the Dodgers' rotation, with a date at San Francisco on tap for Tuesday.

OG Anunoby NY SF
Knicks' OG Anunoby: Won't return Wednesday
2h agoAnunoby (left hamstring soreness) has been ruled out for the remainder of Wednesday's Game 2 against the Pacers.
Anunoby went straight to the locker room and was grabbing at his left hamstring after a shot attempt late in the third period. He'll be unable to return to the contest, leaving minutes for the likes of Miles McBride, Alec Burks and Precious Achiuwa. Anunoby's status should be monitored closely leading up to Friday's Game 3 at Indiana.
-
OG Anunoby NY SF
Knicks' OG Anunoby: Heads to locker room
2h agoAnunoby limped to the locker room holding his left hamstring during Wednesday's Game 2 against Indiana, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports.
After being without Jalen Brunson for portions of the second half, the Knicks could be down Anunoby after he came up limping during the third quarter with what appears to be a left hamstring injury. Until we get an official update from the Knicks, Anunoby should be considered questionable to return. While he's out, Alec Burks, Miles McBride and Precious Achiuwa are the likely candidates for more minutes
-
Jalen Brunson NY PG
Knicks' Jalen Brunson: Returns for second half
2h agoBrunson (foot) has returned for the second half of Wednesday's Game 2 matchup with the Pacers, Fred Katz of The Athletic reports.
Brunson tweaked his foot during the first half and took an early trip to the locker room, but he started the second half for New York. However, the injury is clearly hampering him, as he's sporting a bit of a limp and he doesn't appear to be able to guard the opposing ball handler. It'll be interesting to see how he finishes the game.
-
Jalen Brunson NY PG
Knicks' Jalen Brunson: Has sore right foot
3h agoBrunson is questionable to return to Wednesday's Game 2 against the Pacers with a sore right foot.
Brunson went to the locker room late in the first and stayed there to start the second. The Knicks have given an update to his status, listing him as questionable to return with soreness in his right foot. Miles McBride should man the point guard spot for as long as Brunson is sidelined.
-
Jalen Brunson NY PG
Knicks' Jalen Brunson: In locker room to start second
3h agoBrunson stayed in the locker room following the first quarter for unspecified reasons, Steve Popper of Newsday reports.
Brunson exited the contest late in the first period and went back to the locker room with an undisclosed injury and didn't return to the bench to start the second quarter. Until clarification is provided, Brunson should be considered questionable to return. Miles McBride should handle most of the point guard duties, while Shake Milton could see his first action of the playoffs.
-
Tyrese Haliburton IND PG
Pacers' Tyrese Haliburton: Cleared for Game 2
5h agoHaliburton (back) is available for Wednesday's Game 2 against the Knicks.
Haliburton has been battling back spasms throughout the playoffs, but he'll play through the issue once again Wednesday. However, it's the back spasms could impact his effectiveness considering he scored just six points in 36 minutes during Game 1 on Monday.
-
Aleksander Barkov FLA C
Panthers' Aleksander Barkov: Four points in Game 2
10m agoBarkov tallied two goals and two assists in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the Bruins in Game 2.
Barkov powered the Panthers' offense in the convincing series-tying victory, putting Florida ahead 2-1 with a tally in the second period before adding another goal and two helpers in the third. The 28-year-old Barkov now has four goals and eight points in his last three games after going scoreless in his previous three contests. He's up to 10 points (four goals, six assists) through seven postseason contests.
-
Stuart Skinner EDM G
Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Set to start Wednesday
2h agoSkinner is expected to guard the road goal in Game 1 against Vancouver on Wednesday, per Thomas Drance of The Athletic.
Skinner earned a respectable 2.59 GAA and .910 save percentage in five first-round contests versus LA. However, he might have difficulty against the Canucks after posting a record of 0-3-0 with a 4.60 GAA and an .830 save percentage across four regular-season appearances versus Vancouver in 2023-24. It wouldn't be surprising to see Skinner challenged regularly by the Canucks, but the Oilers have averaged 4.40 goals per game in the postseason, so they're capable of putting themselves in a position to win even when their goaltending isn't the best.
-
Danton Heinen BOS C
Bruins' Danton Heinen: Unavailable Wednesday
5h agoHeinen (undisclosed) is expected to miss Game 2 against Florida on Wednesday, per Tom Gulitti of NHL.com.
It will be the Bruins' fourth straight contest without Heinen. The 28-year-old had 17 goals and 36 points in 74 regular-season outings and has supplied one assist across five playoff contests this year. Heinen is likely to serve in a middle-six capacity once he's healthy.
-
Elias Pettersson VAN C
Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Ready to rock for Game 1
10h agoPettersson (illness) will play Wednesday in Game 1 versus the Oilers, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports.
Pettersson should slot into his usual spots on the second line and first power-play unit Wednesday. The 25-year-old pivot was a bit pedestrian in the first round against the Predators, picking up just three helpers across six outings after racking up 34 goals and 89 points through 82 regular-season contests.
-
Arturs Silovs VAN G
Canucks' Arturs Silovs: Making fourth straight start
10h agoSilovs was the first goalie off the ice at morning skate, per Kevin Woodley of NHL.com, putting him on track to guard the home crease versus Edmonton in Game 1 on Wednesday.
Silovs was excellent after being thrust into action in the first round versus Nashville due to injuries to Thatcher Demko (knee) and Casey DeSmith, who is now healthy but was dealing with a lower-body injury. Silovs went 2-1-0 while posting an impressive 1.70 GAA and .938 save percentage through three appearances against the Predators. The Connor McDavid-led Oilers offense racked up 22 goals through five games in the first round versus Winnipeg, so Silovs will likely be tested early and often Wednesday.
-
Oskar Lindblom SJ LW
Oskar Lindblom: Signs with Swedish club
10h agoLindblom signed a contract with Brynas IF of the SHL on Wednesday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Lindblom appeared in just one game for the Sharks in 2023-24, so it's not surprising to see him head to his native Sweden to continue his professional playing career. At this point, the 27-year-old is unlikely to return to the NHL in the future.
